Peace Love Joy

Hi Stamping Friends,

I can’t believe it’s December already, nearly the end of the year! The Happy Little Stampers (HLS) Mixed Media Challenge December Theme is Anything Goes. Yay, I think it’s super easy for you, isn’t it?

For more details and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Anything mixed media could be linked up to our challenge as long as it follows our theme. Be sure to join for a chance to win $20.

Here in Taiwan, we’re still wearing short-sleeves clothes, yet there are more and more poinsettias on shop windows. Yes, Christmas is coming and I love it. The following is how I made my tag.

Tag Details

1. Stamp text background on tag and sponge several Distress Inks over the stencil on tag.

2. Spread Embossing Paste over snow stencil on tag and let dry.

3. Stamp poinsettia solid stamp with Distress Inks on card scrap. Stamp poinsettia outline stamp with Brilliance Graphite Black Ink and heat emboss. Die cut the poinsettias.

4. Heat emboss texts in white and cut out. Cover poinsettias by Wink of Stella. Apply Glitz Stickles Tiara on center of poinsettias. Assemble the tag.

5. The shining poinsettias are really stunning as shown below. It's too bad the photo does not do it justice.

Hope my tag is inspirational to you. I wish you peace, love and joy. Thanks for stopping by.

Spread Kindness

Hi Stamping Friends,

Time flies. It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) Mixed Media Challenge again. The November Challenge Theme is Tag. Yay, this is basically like Anything Goes, isn’t it?

For more details and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Anything mixed media could be linked up to our challenge as long as it follows our theme. Be sure to join for a chance to win $20.

It’s approaching the most colorful season of the year. I’m challenging myself to make an autumn tag in a pastel way. The following is how I made my tag.

Tag Details

1. Apply several Distress Paints on stencil, flip the stencil and use the stencil like a stamp, i.e. press the colored stencil on tag. Let dry.

2. Apply gesso on tag to create pastel effect. Let dry.

3. Apply several Distress Inks over stencil on tag.

4.Randomly apply Embossing Paste over stencil on tag to create texture. Let dry.

5. Die cut leaves (by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous). Stamp music notes (by Hero Arts). Edge leaves by Distress Inks.

6. Heat emboss text (Simon Says Stamp) in white on black card scrap. Assemble the tag as shown on top.

Hope this tag is eye-pleasing to you. Let’s spread kindness by making and sharing tags/cards with one another. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day.

For more details and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Anything mixed media could be linked up to our challenge as long as it follows our theme. Be sure to join for a chance to win $20.

Were it not for this challenge, I wouldn’t have dug out the crackle paste!  Ha! The following are how I made this tag.

Tag Details

1. Apply several DIY Distress Mists over two overlapping stencils (by TWC) on a watercolor tag. For DIY Distress Mist recipes, please check out my old post.

2. Ink the white area by Distress ink.

3. Apply a thick layer of Crackle Paste over the butterfly stencil (by Memory Box) on tag and let dry.

4. Color crackled butterflies by Distress Stains. Apply Gold Distress Stain Mist to create splatter effects.

5. Heat emboss text (by Simon Says Stamp) in white on black card scrap, adhere sequins and assemble the tag as shown on top.

I hope my tag is inspirational to you and hope today is full of possibilities for your craft creations. Wish you a great day and thanks for stopping by.
